About Indian Structural Steel
Conference

Indian structural steel conference (ISSC 2027) is organized by the Structural Steel Research Group, Department of Civil Engineering of IIT Hyderabad. ISSC 2027 focusses on Structural Steel and its applications. It is to be held from 16-19 Feb, 2027 in IIT Hyderabad.

ISSC 2027 is intended for designers and manufacturers, trade associations, design engineers, steel fabricators, architects, and owners or developers of steel structures. The program brings together industry professionals, researchers, academics, and postgraduate students. It provides a platform for knowledge sharing and discussion on current practices and developments in steel construction.

Aim and Scope of the ISSC

Steel structures constitute a broad and multidisciplinary domain that spans multiple branches of construction engineering and incorporates a wide range of materials combined with steel to form composite structural systems. Structural steel finds extensive application across diverse sectors, including construction, automotive, aerospace, and marine industries. Continuous progress in this field relies on the development of innovative structural materials and technologies, along with advanced computational tools and evolving design standards. Furthermore, construction engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the continued performance of existing structures under changing load demands and functional requirements, highlighting the growing need for sustainable and effective retrofitting and strengthening techniques.

In this context, ISSC 2027 aims to provide a dedicated platform for researchers, designers, construction engineers, steel manufacturers, and consultants from diverse backgrounds who face common technical challenges. The conference seeks to foster a collaborative and engaging environment for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of recent advancements in the analysis, behavior, design, and construction of steel structures. Participants are warmly invited to attend ISSC 2027, which will be hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, India.

The Scientific Committee of ISSC 2027 invites high-quality research contributions within, but not limited to, the following thematic areas:

  • State-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice developments in structural engineering
  • Integration of theory and practice in structural modeling and design
  • Innovative analytical, computational, and experimental simulation methodologies
  • Development of novel structural systems and critical evaluation of existing systems
  • Advanced techniques for maintenance, rehabilitation, retrofitting, and structural health monitoring
  • Investigation of engineering material properties and their influence on structural performance

ISSC 2027 is expected to significantly contribute to future research and development initiatives across all the aforementioned areas.
